you MIGHT try temporary hire companies and see about hiring out as an office "temp". Often companies need someone for only a short time and may be looking to put you in and sometimes the jobs turn into full time jobs.
I'm not sure if this is common with the banking industries, but it's something you MIGHT look into. There's accountemps – they hire out this stuff. God Speed!
You will be asked the standard interview questions including
"What are your strengths and weaknesses?" and "Why should we employ you?"
Expect customer service specific interview questions that include questions like "What does excellent customer service mean to you?" and behavioral interview questions that explore your ability to deal with customers such as "How have you handled a difficult customer previously?"
For a guide to customer service type interviews with questions and sample answers you can visit the website below.
Prepare for an exploration of your numeracy skills in the format of either an employment test or questions about shortages etc.
Most banking jobs are awarded internally. In fact, almost everyone that works in a bank started out as a teller, and moved their way up. I would suggest applying to banks in your area for the posisiton of a teller.
Most banks do require a Bachelor's degree for a teller position, so as long as your degree is recognized in Canada, that shouldn't be a problem. Just don't expect to be shoe horned into a higher position in the bank right away. The Canadian finanacial system is quite different than that of Pakistan, so you'll basically need to relearn the game all over again.
The genre you are discovering that you like is called the 'heist' movies. If you do a wikipeidia search for 'hiest movies' you will find a list.
'The Hiest" with Robert DeNiro and Edward Norton is a good one.
Tell them that you have worked fast food, so you can handle a fast paced environment. Tell them that you have ample experience with cash handling. Tell them that you have polished your customer service and sales skills. Tell them that you are detail and goal oriented. Make sure to dress the part. Look very professional when you go to your interview. It is always good to do some research on the company so that you can ask informed questions. You can also comment on anything you have read about them. For instance "I saw that you have recently opened several new branches, are you planning to expand outside of your current market?" Also be thinking about how you would answer the question "where do you see yourself 5 years from now" because interviewer LOVE to ask that. Other than that, just be confident and enthusiastic.
Good Luck!
Well you should be happy you have a job, but if you can't take it then I suggest going in putting in your two week notice and just tell them you can't handle it.
Then finishing out whatever you and your boss work out and leave at the end of the two weeks.
They will send you your last paycheck via direct deposit or check.
Did you work in customer service? I can only imagine the horror. Otherwise I'm a bit confused at why it would be so bad.
I'm not sure if they'll give you a test at the interview but learning to do mental math is easy. It just requires practice and not much of it. You need only resist the temptation to whip out the calculator every time to learn that you can do simple math in you head before you even get your calculator out.
Actually with no banking experience, you can start as a teller. The pay may not be so great depending on where you work, but you are able to advance quickly. I would suggest Bank Of America because they have a very thorough training program and they will train you to work at any bank if you decide to leave them.
These positions need someone with background in Economics. Since Economics is the only social sciences which involves a lot of math and critical thinking, it is typical to see many Jewish, Indians, and Japaneses in these positions. I don't mean to insult people of other ethnic background; but in my upper level math classes, half of the class are Jewish students, and another half are Indians and Asians. It's lonely out there, folks.
Start looking at your local banks websites usually in the left hand corner there is a small tab saying employment. I know my bank has it then it may lead to the branches that is hiring but like my bank they have a headquarters that all hiring is done. Go and just ask a person sitting at one of the desk away from the tellers. Check Job Clubs (the unemployment office). Banks are always hiring if they are larger banks like Wachovia's.
If you have completed your bachelors degree in BBA or MBA (finance) then you will definitely get the job in banking sector, but remember you have to appear for bank exams for managerial level.

Any employer can legally deny you a job based on poor credit.
However, i was a teller for bank of america, and I dont believe they checked my credit.
